WARWICK HEMSLEY AO

Chairman

Warwick Hemsley is a graduate of both UWA and Curtin University (formerly WAIT) and is also a licensed valuer and Fellow of the Australian Property Institute. Warwick has been very involved in the property profession for many years, having served as Managing Director of valuation and commercial property practice DTZ (WA) for some years, Chief Executive Officer of property group Peet Ltd for 17 years, Chairman of the Housing Industry Forecasting Group and President of the Urban Development Institute (WA), amongst various other professional roles. Warwick was also on the advisory board of the Curtin Business School and the advisory board of the School of Economics and Finance at Curtin University, within which the property studies degree sits. In 2021, Warwick was made an Officer (AO) of the Order of Australia in recognition of this services to the arts, community and business.

ROWAN HEMSLEY

Director

Rowan Hemsley holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Property) degree from Curtin University along with a Professional Certificate in Asset Management Planning and commenced his career as a valuer in early 2005. He has since held positions with a number of firms throughout Perth and overseas.

Rowan has experience across all property types, including residential, commercial and industrial, along with other specialised property assets. He also has experience in preparing valuations for compensation purposes, conducting rental determinations and providing advice to various government authorities and departments on a range of matters.

He started QWest Valuations (now Hemsley Paterson) with Warwick Hemsley as co-principals in 2014 and has been actively involved in developing and growing the business over this time.

Rowan is a current serving member of the Board of Valuers; Australian Property Institute’s WA State Committee and he is also on the Australian Property Institute’s panel of valuers for Rental Determinations. In 2019, Rowan was elevated to a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute.

STUART PATERSON

Executive Director Valuations

Stuart Paterson has over 40 years’ experience in the property valuation, real estate and finance industry and brings a broad range of valuation experience in both the public and private sectors to Hemsley Paterson.

Stuart began his Property Valuation career with the Valuers General’s office in 1973 before joining Peet & Co in 1981 as a Company Valuer and Investment Sales Negotiator.

Between 1984 and 1991 Stuart was the Manager of Valuations Department at the R&I Bank (Bankwest) which involved financing of commercial property, acquisition and disposal of properties for bank purposes and consultation and negotiating bank rent reviews in addition to providing valuation advice.

Stuart spent 2 years at David Barnao & Co as a Partner before starting Paterson Property Consultants in 1993. Paterson Property Consultants joined a member office of Preston Rowe Paterson Australia in 1998 before Stuart disengaged from the franchise group in 2010.

In 2015, Paterson Property Valuers WA merged with QWest Property Services with Stuart becoming Executive Director Valuations.

ANNETTE NURSE

Operations Manager

Annette has 30 years’ experience in administration, operations and management in China, Hong Kong and Western Australia.

In 1981 she started her career with ICI Imperial Chemicals In Hong Kong. In 2002 she migrated to Perth and in 2004 joined Paterson Property Valuers (Previously known as PRP Valuers) as Operations & Systems Manager. She has been Responsible for the firms reporting and compliance.

Annette is fluent in both Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin) and English as well as an elementary level of Japanese. She brings with her valuable interpersonal & communication skills.

CHIN TAN

Valuer

Chin Tan has a Bachelor of Commerce (Market & Advertising) degree and a post graduate degree in Property from Curtin University. He has gained experience with a variety of companies which include a law firm, international direct marketing company and sales in the oil and gas industry.

Prior to joining Hemsley Paterson and gaining his Land Valuers Licence, Chin gained valuable and wide ranging experience working for a property consulting and valuation firm dealing with varying property types and issues. He brings with him a sound knowledge base and strong work ethic, aiding our clients with a wide range of property valuations.

SUSAN KENNERLY

Research and Development Manager

Susan Kennerly has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from UWA and has had an interesting and varied career, working in both the public and private sector, as well as several years in community organisations as club manager.

Susan has direct experience in the property industry through her work as Research Officer for Baillieu Knight Frank in Perth, followed by a transfer to London where she worked as a Senior Analyst for Knight Frank Kolpron.

ASHLEIGH HEMSLEY

Administration and Accounts Manager

Ashleigh has diverse experience through a range of different sectors, having gained her Certificate in Business Administration and has held roles in the finance, electrical manufacturing and optical industries. Ashleigh joined Hemsley Paterson in 2015 after taking some time away to raise a young family.

JIM KINGSBURY

Senior Valuer

Has over 30 years extensive experience in broad acre farming, industrial development of large factory and commercial properties. He has been both a city and regional bank manager and has undertaken a wide range of valuation arrangements including residential, commercial, industrial and large rural entities.

Jim brings a wide range of academic qualifications including a Bachelor of Commerce (Property) and a Bachelor of Business as well as a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment.

In 1987 Jim became a Commercial Banking Manager with Bankwest before moving to Paterson Property Valuers in 1998, which later joined with Preston Rowe Paterson Australia. In 2014 Jim became a Director of the Paterson Property Valuers WA
